The Lemos Farm Petting Zoo
Your kids will love a visit to the Lemos Farm petting zoo! In fact, you’ll probably love it too. There’s something special about having the opportunity to spend time with gentle animals like baby goats and bunnies, sheep, and pigs. Pet them or feed them or just enjoy their company; the Lemos Farm petting zoo is a great way to spend time with your family.
Petting Zoos Around the World
Have you ever wondered who came up with the idea of the petting zoo? The answer seems to be the London Zoo, which created a special area just for children in 1938. They were soon followed by the Philadelphia Zoo here in the United States, and people everywhere began to realize how much fun it can be to spend time with animals.
Not every petting zoo is like the one at Lemos Farm – some outside the United States feature pythons or tiger cubs, but our version features only safe and gentle creatures! Petting zoos in Australia are sometimes referred to as “kindy farms,” and petting zoos in the Netherlands are so common they’re found in many urban neighborhoods.
Feeding the Animals
If you or your child wants to feed the animals, you can purchase a food cup for just $1. Feeding the animals at the petting zoo is something kids just love to do, and the memories they’ll have of the experience are truly priceless.
All our passes include access to the petting zoo, whether you order the $10 Unlimited Adult Pass, the $20 Silver Kid’s Pass, or the $25 Gold Kid’s Pass. Lemos Farm is open on the weekends from 10am-5pm. We’re closed Monday through Wednesday. Come on down to 12320 San Mateo Rd in Half Moon Bay, CA and have fun with us at the Lemos Farm petting zoo!
