ABOUT THE PAINTER
Phil Davis, a Sonoma native, is a formally trained painter who specialized in illustration at the California College of the Arts, where he received his BFA. His artwork, particularly oil portraits of many local and national sports figures, has been exhibited and won awards across the country. Phil's love of sports, particularly baseball, is clearly evident in the realistic figures he has painted over the past 25 years. Phil is as passionate about baseball as he is about working in painstaking detail on an oil painting of Ted Williams. His murals have been seen in private homes, restaurants and office buildings.
Since 2000, Phil has been the painter of Half Moon Bay's Lemos Farm horse, and he spends countless hours designing and painting the seasonal metamorphosis of the beloved fiberglass horse. Phil resides in San Mateo, where he is never more than 30 minutes from a ballpark.
He can be contacted at or (650)578-0878.
